Wolfsbach is a part of the municipality of Ensdorf (Upper Palatinate) in the Amberg-Sulzbach district in Upper Palatinate in Bavaria .

Wolfsbach is located in the south of the Amberg-Sulzbach district about 12 km from Amberg. The place in Vilstal borders directly on the Deer Forest Nature Park .

history

The place was first mentioned in 930 in the form of "Vuoluespach", which makes it the oldest place name in the municipality of Ensdorf. In 1123 he was mentioned in the records of the Ensdorfer monastery as "Wolfesbach". A church in the village is first reported on February 24, 1282, when the patronage rights were sold to the Ensdorf monastery. A hammer mill in Wolfsbach has also been mentioned since the 14th century.

In the course of the territorial reform, the formerly independent municipality was incorporated into the municipality of Ensdorf in 1971.
