Lothar Kuld

Lothar Kuld (born February 3, 1950 ) is a German theologian and has been a professor at the Weingarten University of Education in Weingarten since 2004 .

Life

After studying Catholic theology and German at the University of Freiburg i. Br. From 1968 to 1974, after a legal clerkship in Stuttgart in 1974/1975 at the New Gymnasium in Stuttgart-Feuerbach, in 1975 he started teaching in Ellwangen / Jagst. He later moved to the Wagenburg high school in Stuttgart.

From 1981 to 1992, Kuld was a senior lecturer in Catholic theology / religious education at the Ludwigsburg University of Education. He obtained his doctorate in 1988 theol. at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg in Freiburg im Breisgau through John Henry Cardinal Newman . After his habilitation in 1995 for religious education and catechetics at the theological faculty of the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg, he worked from 1992 to 1996 as a professor for Catholic theology / religious education at the Weingarten University of Education. 1996–2003 Kuld was Professor of Catholic Theology / Religious Education at the Karlsruhe University of Education, where he headed the Department of Catholic Religious Education.

There he worked on the Compassion project. A procedure was worked out how he accompanied students in a project during social work in the hospital. This model was later introduced in many Catholic schools in Germany and Austria, and in 1999 enjoyed media interest. Since the 2003/2004 winter semester, Kuld has been professor of Catholic theology / religious education at the University of Education in Weingarten. He lives in Ravensburg . Most recently, he retired as Dean of Faculty I on July 23, 2015.
