Lothar Roos (born July 12, 1935 in Karlsruhe ) is a German prelate and social ethicist .

Life

Roos studied philosophy and Catholic theology from 1955 to 1960 at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg , the University of Lucerne and the St. Peter's Seminary in Freiburg. On 12 June 1960 he received by the Archbishop of Freiburg, Hermann Schäufele the priesthood and then worked as vicar operates. Roos was editor-in-chief of the journal Lebendige Seelsorge from 1974 to 2003 and writes, among other things, in the journal The New Order . From 1984 to 2014 he was a spiritual advisor to the Association of Catholic Entrepreneurs (BKU) . As founding chairman, he headed the Joseph Höffner Society from 2002 to 2016; In 2016 he became its honorary chairman.

Lothar Roos has been a member of the Catholic student association Unitas-Albertina in Freiburg since 1957 . He is a founding member of the Heinrich Pesch Prize ; he is involved in the scientific association Ordo Socialis . In 1995 he was made an honorary papal prelate .
