Political positions

Schnitzler advocates a consistent expansion of the welfare state . He is particularly critical of the changes in wage and labor market policy introduced by the Hartz reforms . He calls for a regulated labor market with full-time jobs that are remunerated in a collective agreement. He calls for a publicly financed labor market for the long-term unemployed. In order to create the necessary financial basis for an expansion of labor and social policy, Schnitzler considers tax increases (above all property, inheritance and financial transaction taxes) to be necessary. He is in favor of a minimum pension of 1,050 euros and proposes the introduction of the principle of citizens' insurance in the area of pension insurance. All self-employed , civil servants and politicians should then also be subject to insurance . In education, he advocates the community school, in which all children up to the tenth grade are taught together. In his opinion, professional qualifications, especially master craftsman diplomas and technician qualifications, must entitle them to study.
