Lotta & the Seriousness of Life is a German TV film by Florian Gärtner from 2017 . It is the sixth episode of the ZDF film series Lotta with Josefine Preuss in the title role. The television series is based on the book The Last Things by Annegret Held .

Lotta finally seems to have reached the goal of her dreams: As a doctor, she is moving to adventurous Berlin with her daughter. But the metropolis doesn't seem to have been waiting for her, and so Lotta doesn't even manage to conquer the city with her cheeky Lotta charm. And is it still okay as a woman in her early 30s to be cheeky and, as she so often does, to interfere in the lives of others? Due to the adjustment difficulties at the new location, Lotta has to critically question her concept of life. With Junis, of all things, whose son Lotta's daughter Lilo stole in school, Lotta finally succeeds in finding a place and a home for herself in Berlin, the home of the homeless.
