Lotte Lien

Lotte Lien (born September 7, 1988 in Trondheim ) is a Norwegian boxer . It was 2009 European champion of the amateurs in the welterweight division .

Career

Lotte Lien started boxing as a teenager and joined the Trondheim boxing club . In 2005 she took part in the Norwegian Junior Championship in the weight class up to 60 kg body weight and won the title with a demolition victory in the 2nd round over Sara Slyngstad. In the same year she started at the Norwegian Senior Championships, but was defeated in the same weight class against Ingrid Egner, perhaps the best Norwegian boxer at the time, on points (6:12).

In 2006 she was again Norwegian junior champion with a points win over Ingrid Johansen in the weight class up to 66 kg. At her first start at an international championship, the Nordic Junior Championship in Tønsberg, she was defeated in the finals of the 63 kg weight class against Ronja Holgersson from Sweden (8:27) and took second place. In 2007 Lotte Lien became Norwegian junior champion with a points win over Anne Tjøndal and a little later with a point win over Wibeke Aure (41: 4) for the first time also Norwegian champion among senior women, each in the weight class up to 66 kg body weight.

In 2008 Lotte Lien became Norwegian champion in the weight class up to 70 kg body weight. In the final battle she defeated Birgit Reitan Oeksnes clearly on points (27: 8). At the championship of the European Union in Liverpool , she lost in the semi-finals against Amanda Coulson from England (3-7) and took 3rd place. In 2009 she took a break from the Norwegian championship and prepared intensively for the European championship in Mykolaiv / Ukraine . An undertaking that worked, because she was there in the welterweight division with a knockout win in the 4th round over Klara Svensson, Sweden , a point win over the Russian champion and actual favorite of this weight class Irina Potejwa (2: 1), an extremely tight one Victory on points over Gihade Lagmiri , France (+5: 5), which only came about because of the better auxiliary points ratio in their favor, and a clear point victory in the final over Katarzyna Furmaniak from Poland (5: 0) European Champion.

In March 2010 Lotte Lien won in Trondheim on the occasion of the international match for women Norway against England in the welterweight division against Lesley Sackey on points (8: 3). At the Nordic Championship in Oslo she was defeated in the final against Ronja Holgersson (4: 7) and therefore only came in second. At the 2010 World Cup in Bridgetown / Barbados she won over Kimberly Gittens from Barbados (12: 5), but was defeated in the quarterfinals by English champion Savannah Marshall on points (2: 6) and thus missed the medal ranks.
