Lotte Lien

Lotte Lien (born September 7, 1988 in Trondheim ) is a Norwegian boxer . It was 2009 European champion of the amateurs in the welterweight division .

Career

Lotte Lien started boxing as a teenager and joined the Trondheim boxing club . In 2005 she took part in the Norwegian Junior Championship in the weight class up to 60 kg body weight and won the title with a demolition victory in the 2nd round over Sara Slyngstad. In the same year she started at the Norwegian Senior Championships, but was defeated in the same weight class against Ingrid Egner, perhaps the best Norwegian boxer at the time, on points (6:12).

In 2006 she was again Norwegian junior champion with a points win over Ingrid Johansen in the weight class up to 66 kg. At her first start at an international championship, the Nordic Junior Championship in Tønsberg, she was defeated in the finals of the 63 kg weight class against Ronja Holgersson from Sweden (8:27) and took second place. In 2007 Lotte Lien became Norwegian junior champion with a points win over Anne Tjøndal and a little later with a point win over Wibeke Aure (41: 4) for the first time also Norwegian champion among senior women, each in the weight class up to 66 kg body weight.

In 2008 Lotte Lien became Norwegian champion in the weight class up to 70 kg body weight. In the final battle she defeated Birgit Reitan Oeksnes clearly on points (27: 8). At the championship of the European Union in Liverpool , she lost in the semi-finals against Amanda Coulson from England (3-7) and took 3rd place. In 2009 she took a break from the Norwegian championship and prepared intensively for the European championship in Mykolaiv / Ukraine .
