Lotte Wolf-Matthäus (born April 8, 1908 in Brünlos , † November 12, 1979 in Ilten ) was a German singer ( alto ).

Life

Lotte Wolf-Matthäus was born in Brünlos as the daughter of the cantor and teacher Martin Matthäus. She attended the commercial college. 1926 to 1930 vocal studies at the State Conservatory in Leipzig, with Ilse Helling-Rosenthal , training as an alto. In 1929 she married the teacher, Martin Wolf from Oschatz, in the village church of Altoschatz . From 1929 to 1951 she lives and works in Oschatz . In 1951 she moved to Ilten in West Germany with her son Peter. She died on November 12, 1979 in Ilten.

Act

1929, at the age of 21, first national appearance in the Thomaskirche Leipzig under St. Thomas Cantor Karl Straube with the alto solo part in the Christmas Oratorio by Johann Sebastian Bach , with St. Thomas Choir and Gewandhaus Orchestra Leipzig . Uninterrupted work as a lieder singer and as a concert and oratorio singer in concert halls and churches throughout Germany and Western Europe until 1970.
