Ilten is a district of the town of Sehnde , which is located southeast of Hanover on the B 65 .
history
The earliest mention of Ilten is from 1240. In the high Middle Ages, Ilten (instead of Lühnde ) became the center of the so-called Great Free , a border area between the Hildesheim Monastery and the sphere of influence of the Guelphs , which has been given special privileges since the first settlement . The official buildings that still bear witness to this today, as well as the church - with significant original furnishings by Ernst Dietrich Bartels - date from the Baroque period .
The Amtsvogtei Ilten , formed in 1512, was assigned to the Burgdorf Office in 1859 with other offices. When the districts were established in 1885, the Burgdorf district became the Burgdorf district.
The municipality of Ilten was incorporated into the municipality, today the town of Sehnde, as part of the regional reform on March 1, 1974.
