Culture and sights

chapel

The oldest news about the St. Margaret Chapel is recorded in the church chronicle. There it says: "The Chapel at Dolgen is old, needs improvement", which took place in 1664. Several repairs have been made over the years. The last one in 1997. Cracks appeared in the walls due to the severe sagging of the foundation. In order to preserve the listed chapel, a complete concrete foundation was laid at a depth of around 3.50 m. The chapel has largely been preserved in its original substance.

A life-size crucifix adorns the interior. It hangs over the altar and was brought back from Verdun by Pastor Garbe after the First World War . The bell, which rings daily at 6 p.m., bears the inscription on her coat: “My name is Ursula, I call all the tired. Goebel poured me in the year of our Lord 1534 ”.
