Louis Cane (born December 13, 1943 in Beaulieu-sur-Mer ) is a French painter and sculptor.

life and work

Louis Cane studied at the École Nationale des Arts Décoratifs in Nice and completed a two-year course at the École nationale supérieure des arts décoratifs in Paris in 1968. He made the acquaintance of Philippe Sollers , Marcelin Pleynet and Jacques Henric. He co-founded the journal Peinture, cahiers théoriques , which was published from 1971 to 1985.

Cane belongs to the French artist group Supports / Surfaces .
