Louis Dubois
Louis Dubois (born December 13, 1830 in Schaerbeek , † April 28, 1880 ibid) was a Belgian painter.
Louis Dubois was a follower of Courbet without being his pupil. His versatile works include portraits, landscapes, navies, genre paintings and still lifes, and in the luminosity of the coloring follow Jacob Jordaens .
In 1857 he exhibited the following pictures in the Brussels Salon:
- The Redemptorist ,
 - A priest preparing for the sacrifice of mass.
 
1860 followed
- The storks (1860, Brussels Museum),
 - Roulette ,
 - The choirboy .
 
The Brussels Salon of 1863 brought
- Solitude , a large, realistically treated landscape, the center of which is a dead deer.
 
Other outstanding creations of Dubois are:
- The billiards player ,
 - The Scheldt ,
 - Flemish interior ,
 - The mill ,
 - Autumn in the ardennes ,
 - Cranes and ducks ,
 - Sunset ,
 - Sunrise on a swamp ,
 - The Meuse near Dordrecht etc.
 
He died in Brussels on April 28, 1880.
