Louis Faignart

Louis André Faignart (born February 10, 1803 in Saint-Vaast , † December 6, 1882 in Longchamps , Bertogne municipality ) was a Belgian industrialist and politician of the Catholic Party . He was a member of the Belgian Chamber of Deputies from 1846 to 1864 .

biography

The son of Jean-Baptiste Faignart and Marie Pieron was married to Clarisse Boucquéau. He was the father-in-law of the politicians Victor Allard , Amedée Visart de Bocarmé and Emile Van Hoorde and the grandfather of Baron Josse Allard .

After the early death of his father, Faignart worked as an industrialist and farmer. He worked as a banker in La Louvrière and as a sugar manufacturer in Saint-Vaast. He also owned several other businesses.

Was Faignart 1844-1848 hen Gauer Provincial Council from the canton of Le Roeulx and 1869-1875 council in Saint-Vaast, where he lay judge was. From 1846 to 1864 he represented the Soignies district in the Belgian Chamber of Deputies for the Catholic Party . He was also a member of the Provincial Agriculture Council of Hainaut and the Upper Agriculture Council of Belgium.

On June 6, 1856 he was made a Knight of the Order of the Leopold .
