Louis Le Breton (born January 15, 1818 in Douarnenez , † August 30, 1866 there ) was a French medic and painter .

Life

Louis Le Breton studied medicine in Paris and took part in the expedition to the South Pole under Jules Dumont d'Urville . On the trip he drew his impressions. From 1847 he devoted himself entirely to painting and specialized in maritime motifs.
