Louis Waldenburg (born July 31, 1837 in Filehne , † April 14, 1881 in Berlin ) was a German internist .

Life

He studied medicine at the University of Berlin from 1857 and received his doctorate in 1860 . After further studies in Heidelberg , he settled in Berlin in 1861 as a specialist in breast and throat diseases. From 1864 to 1868 he was co-editor of the Allgemeine Medizinische Central-Zeitung . In 1865 he completed his habilitation in internal medicine and became a private lecturer at the University of Berlin, in 1871 an assistant professor and in 1877 chief physician at the Charité . From 1868 until his death, he succeeded Louis Posner as editor-in-chief of the Berliner Klinische Wochenschrift . He stood out particularly through the promotion of lung sanatoriums.
