Louis Wilkins
Louis Gary Wilkins (born December 10, 1882 , † April 6, 1950 ) was an American athlete who was successful as a pole vaulter at the beginning of the 20th century . He took part in the 1904 Olympic Games in St. Louis .
Six Americans and the German Paul Weinstein competed for the pole vault final . Olympic champion was Charles Dvorak with the Olympic record of 3.50 m. The four runners-up all finished the competition with a jump of 3.35 m. Wilkins was awarded 3rd place behind LeRoy Samse .
In 1904 Louis Wilkins was runner-up in the US with 10-5.25.
