Louise Ford is a British film editor .

Life

Louise Ford initially worked as a journalist in London for publications such as The Sunday Times and Cosmopolitan . She had wanted to switch to the film industry for a long time, but saw no opportunities. When her husband, who also works as an editor and producer, got a six-month assignment in New York City, they both decided to move to the United States.

There she completed a course in film editing at the Edit Center, where she met the film editor Michael Taylor . Ford then worked as Taylor's assistant editing films such as Against the Current (2009), The Imperialists Are Still Alive! (2010) and The Loneliest Planet (2011). She also made her first short films.

She took on her first independent editing for Cynthia Fredette's film Half The Perfect World . This was followed by collaborations with Robert Eggers for The Witch (2015), Cory Finley for Thoroughbreds (2017) and Paul Dano for Wildlife (2018). In 2019 she worked again with Eggers on Der Leuchtturm .
