Lourdes Chapel (Boxtal)
The Roman Catholic Lourdes Chapel in Boxtal , a district of Freudenberg in the Main-Tauber district , is located at the rectory and is one of the oldest German Lourdes chapels . It was donated by Pastor Lorenz Englert and inaugurated on July 26, 1885. The chapel was built to commemorate the 18 apparitions of Mary that Bernadette Soubirous had from February 11 to July 16, 1858 near Lourdes , France . On the occasion of the inauguration of the chapel, the then newly founded choral society Frohsinn Boxtal specially rehearsed three songs. The Lourdes Chapel is a cultural monument of the city of Freudenberg. She belongs to the pastoral care unit Freudenberg, which is assigned to the deanery Tauberbischofsheim of the Archdiocese of Freiburg .
