St. Nikolaus (Boxtal)

The Roman Catholic parish church of St. Nikolaus in Boxtal , a district of Freudenberg in the Main-Tauber district , was built in the 13th and 19th centuries and is consecrated to St. Nicholas of Myra . The Nikolauskirche has a late Romanesque former choir tower with a vault from the 13th century. Other parts of the church such as the nave with arched windows date from the years 1880/81 and are neo-Romanesque, the rest is modern from extensions in the 1960s. Inside there is a triumphal arch from 1747 and accessories, u. a. a statue of Rochus dating from around 1900. The Nikolauskirche is a cultural monument of the city of Freudenberg. The church belongs to the pastoral care unit Freudenberg, which is assigned to the deanery Tauberbischofsheim of the Archdiocese of Freiburg .
