Luan Starova

Luan Arif Starova ( Macedonian Луан Ариф Старова ; born August 14, 1941 in Pogradec ) is a Macedonian writer and diplomat.

Life

Luan Starova was born in Pogradec ( Albania ) on Lake Ohrid in 1941. He completed a degree in philology at the University of Skopje and defended his doctorate in French literature at the University of Zagreb . He then became a lecturer in French philology at the University of Skopje. After Macedonia gained independence in 1991, he became the country's first ambassador to Paris in 1994 . In 1996 he became the Macedonian ambassador in Madrid . He was also ambassador to Portugal and permanent representative of Macedonia to UNESCO . He is the author of several scientific and fictional works in Macedonian and Albanian . So far, two works have been translated into German.
