Luba Skořepová , also Ljuba Skořepová (born September 21, 1923 in Náchod as Libuše Skořepová ; † December 23, 2016 in Prague ), was a Czech actress .

Surname

Luba Skořepová was born in the family of the owner of a sawmill as Libuše Skořepová . Since her childhood, however, she was first called by her parents, later also generally, with the nickname Luba (alternatively also Ljuba), which she later largely accepted and even used herself.

Skořepová's surname is also complicated. After her marriage to the writer Pavel Hanuš, she took his surname. After their separation, she wanted to return to her maiden name, but because she could no longer find the divorce papers, this was refused. Thus Libuše Hanušová remained her "official" name until her death.

Life

Luba Skořepová studied acting at the Prague Conservatory from 1942 to 1944 . She then worked at various theaters and in 1948 became a member of the ensemble at the renowned Národní divadlo . She stayed with the theater until June 2014 and played in over 140 different roles at the theater for more than 66 years.

Skořepová made her screen debut in 1946 in a minor supporting role in the comedy Právě začínáme directed by Vladimír Slavínský . Up to her last feature film in 2010, the family film Dešťová víla , and her last TV appearance in the TV series Stopy života, she worked in over 120 film and TV productions. She became known to the German-speaking audience in particular through her participation in various fairy tale productions such as Die Märchenbraut and The Return of the Fairy Tale Bride .

In his first marriage Skořepová was married to the actor Josef Pehr . Her second husband was the writer Pavel Hanuš until his death in 1991 .
