Luca Marmorini

Luca Marmorini (born June 17, 1961 in Arezzo ) is an Italian engine technician who has been involved in international motorsport for many years.

Career

Luca Marmorini studied at the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Pisa in the 1980s . After graduating in 1986, he received his doctorate in 1990.

After a time at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology , the Italian worked in various functions in motorsport. In 1990 he first came to Scuderia , the racing department of Ferrari , where he first worked in engine development and later in research and development. Marmorini stayed with Ferrari until 1999. He then worked for Toyota Racing and was involved in the development of the V10 and V8 racing engines . In 2009 he returned to Scuderia and took over the management of the engine department. After the disappointing performance of Scuderia 2014 , which the team leadership attributed mainly to the defective 059/3 engines , the contract between Marmorini and the Ferrari racing team ended prematurely in July 2014.

Marmorini is married with two children and lives in Modena .
