Lucie Koelsch

Lucie Kölsch (born Lucie Wulf ; born February 4, 1919 in Worms ; † December 5, 1997 there ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

Before 1933, Kölsch, daughter of the carpenter and SPD member Rudolf Wulf, was a member of the Kinderfreunde and the Arbeiter-Gym- und Sportbund in Worms. After completing secondary school, she trained as an industrial clerk from 1936 to 1939 . After their wedding in 1939, she lived with her husband Ludwig Kölsch in Swinoujscie from 1941 to 1945 , before returning to Worms in 1946. During the time of National Socialism , both her uncle Ludwig Bardorf (1936) and her brother-in-law Heinrich Kölsch (1938) were tried for high treason because of their membership of the SPD.

In 1946 Kölsch joined the SPD. From 1948 to 1960 she was a city ​​councilor in Worms before moving into the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament in 1957, to which she was a member until 1977. During this time she was a member of the parliamentary committee of the SPD in Rhineland-Palatinate, a member of the state committee and the party council. Her political priorities were social and school policy.

Honors

In 1969 she was awarded the Cross of Merit 1st Class of the Federal Republic of Germany, and in 1974 the Great Cross of Merit . In 1974 she received the ring of honor of the city of Worms and on February 27, 1989, honorary citizenship for services to the city. The youth music school in Worms was named after her ( Lucie Kölsch youth music school ).

Her estate is in the Worms City Archives and in the Archives of the Rhineland-Palatinate State Parliament.
