Ludger Zurstrasse

Ludger Zurstraßen OSB (born November 24, 1731 in Warendorf ; † April 3, 1798 ) was a Roman Catholic priest and penultimate abbot of Liesborn Monastery from 1767 to 1798 .

Life

Ludger Zurstraßen was born on November 24, 1731 in Warendorf . On the feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary on December 8, 1748, he entered the Benedictine Abbey of Liesborn . A year later he took his religious vows and was ordained a priest on October 18, 1756 .

Since November 18, 1760, Zurstraßen taught theology in the monastery and was elected abbot of the monastery on December 14, 1767. Under his leadership, the monastery hospital was renovated in 1773 and a new bakery and brewery was built in 1782.

Zurstraßen died on April 3, 1798.
