Ludovic Feldman

Ludovic Feldman (born June 7, 1893 in Galați ; † September 11, 1987 in Bucharest ) was a Romanian composer .

After initial training in his hometown, Feldman was a student of Robert Klenck and Dumitru Georgescu Kiriac at the Bucharest Conservatory from 1910 to 1911 . He then studied until 1913 at the Academy of Music and Performing Arts with František Ondříček . In the early 1940s he took lessons in harmony, counterpoint and composition with Mihail Jora in Budapest .

From 1925 to 1926 he was concertmaster at the Zagreb Opera, then until 1940 first violinist at the Opera Națională Bucureşti . He was also a violinist from 1926 to 1940, then concertmaster of the Bucharest Philharmonic Orchestra until 1953. Between 1930 and 1940 he was a member of the Teodorescu Quartet in Bucharest.

Feldman composed a. a. Five symphonic pieces , a symphonic ode , symphonic variations , a flute concerto, a concerto for two string orchestras, a concerto for piano, celesta and percussion as well as chamber music works.
