Ludwig Anton

Ludwig Anton (born Sigmund Krauss July 26, 1872 in Vienna , Austria-Hungary ; died December 8, 1941 in Vienna) was an Austrian writer and doctor.

Life

Krauss was of Jewish origin. He studied medicine in his hometown of Vienna and worked as a doctor in Baden near Vienna. In addition to some dramas, comedies and occult adventure novels, he also wrote the early utopian novel Brücken über dem Weltraum under his pseudonym Ludwig Anton , which depicts a first space flight to Venus and which remained relatively unknown in the German-speaking world. Hugo Gernsback had the book translated for his Wonder Stories Quarterly series , where it was published in the winter of 1933 under the title Interplanetary Bridges .

His daughters Alice Penkala and Edith Krausz were also active in literature.
