Ludwig Babinski (born June 29, 1909 in Vienna ; † October 14, 1990 there himself; also Ludwig Babinsky ) was an Austrian orchestra conductor , composer , arranger , jazz pianist in the field of upscale light music .

Babinski appeared between 1943 and 1945 as a conductor, arranger and musician (piano, saxophone) with the dance orchestra of the German Europe broadcaster . After the suppression of National Socialism , he worked for the radio dance orchestra and entertainment orchestra of Radio Vienna . With Ernst Landl , with the help of the Soviet occupying power , he started the concert series “Hello! Swing, Swing ”. From 1950 he directed the Small Vienna Radio Orchestra. Since 1956 he has played at the Vienna Opera Ball with his salon orchestra . Since 1970 he has headed the Babinski- Schrammeln . He composed entertainment, dance music and Viennese songs , such as Manhattan Romance , Love Ballad , you say “wonderful” to Vienna or the plucked and plucked polka . The Walt Disney Company brought him in 1962 as a music coach for their film about Johann Strauss . 1972 Babinski was awarded the title of professor; later he was awarded the Cross of Honor for Science and Art 1st Class and the Silver Medal of Honor from the Federal Capital Vienna .

He was buried in the Kagran cemetery (group 14, row 13, number 1) in Vienna.
