Ludwig Borinski
Ludwig Borinski (born January 11, 1910 in Munich , † November 5, 1998 in Hamburg ) was a German Anglist.
Life
After completing his doctorate in Leipzig in 1931 with Levin Ludwig Schücking (he was also one of Theodor Frings' close circle of students ). As a half-Jew (son of Karl Borinski ) he failed his habilitation in 1933 for racist reasons. He then emigrated to England. From 1951 to 1975 he taught as a professor for English language and culture at the University of Hamburg .
