Ludwig Boumann
Ludwig Boumann (actually Ludwig van Boumann ; * February 20, 1801 in Berlin ; † December 14, 1871 ibid) was a German "aesthetic writer".
Life
Boumann was the grandson of the architect Jan Bouman, who was appointed to Potsdam by Friedrich II from Amsterdam . Ludwig's father Georg Friedrich was an officer, later an architect, and was ennobled in 1801; Ludwig gave up the title of nobility. Ludwig attended the grammar school at the Gray Monastery and then studied philosophy at the Alma Mater Berolinensis . After receiving his doctorate on Spinoza (1828), he worked as a private scholar .
Boumann was one of Hegel's supporters and was (with Fritz Förster , Eduard Gans , Karl von Hegel , Leopold von Henning , Heinrich Gustav Hotho , Philipp Marheineke , Karl Ludwig Michelet , Karl Rosenkranz and Johannes Schulze ) one of the editors of the publications that began immediately after his death Complete edition of Hegel's works.
