Georg Friedrich von Boumann

Georg Friedrich von Bouman (* 27. November 1737 in Potsdam , † after 1812) was a German architect and master builder , the first as artillery - Colonel in the Prussian served army.

Life

He was born as the third child of the Amsterdam-based architect Johann Boumann (originally Jan Bouman) and his wife Anna Johanna van Lohuijsen. At first he was an artillery colonel (head of the 3rd Berlin Artillery Regiment), later a builder and architect. As the successor to his father, he was temporarily senior construction director until his brother Michael Philipp Boumann took over this task because Georg Friedrich von Boumann was active outside Berlin. At the latest in 1801 he was ennobled.

The philologist and writer Ludwig von Boumann (1801–1871) was his son.
