Ludwig Gottlieb Scriba
Karl Ludwig Gottlieb Scriba (born June 3, 1736 in Nieder-Beerbach , † May 31, 1804 in Arheilgen (now part of Darmstadt )) was a German entomologist and Protestant pastor .
Life
Scriba, son of pastor Johann Christoph Scriba, was pastor in Graefenhausen from 1770 after studying theology in Gießen and from 1783 pastor in Arheilgen. In 1803 he was retired.
He was known as a taxidermist and had a large collection of minerals and conchylia. Scriba published partly anonymously on entomology and edited the journal for entomology enthusiasts . From 1778 he helped with the scientific reviews of Johann Heinrich Merck .
