Ludwig Karl Freiherr von Berckheim

Ludwig Karl von Berckheim (born January 4, 1726 , † October 26, 1797 in Lörrach ) was Baden-Durlach Landvogt of the Oberamt Rötteln from 1772 to 1792 and a real secret councilor of the margraviate.

Life

Due to his ownership of the manors Allmannsweier , Wittenweier and Krautergersheim , Berckheim was also a member of the Ortenau Imperial Knighthood , where he was matriculated in 1752. In 1788 he was also a member of the Lower Alsatian knighthood. In 1791 he was elected to the council of the Ortenau knighthood.

Origin and family

Berckheim came from the younger (Catholic) line of the barons of Berckheim zu Rappoltsweiler .

In 1773 he married Franziska Luise Freiin von Glaubitz , with whom they had four children:

Henriette von Oberkirch (Baronne d'Oberkirch) was a niece of Berckheim.
