Ludwig Krafft

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ludwig (Lutz) Krafft von Balzheim (* around 1330; † 1397 ) was mayor of Ulm from 1372 and in this capacity laid the foundation stone for Ulm Minster in 1377 .

Life

His parents were Hans Krafft (* around 1310; † December 22, 1367) and Guta Rot (* around 1315; † December 24, 1362). His siblings were Peter (* around 1340), Heinrich (* around 1350), Lucia (* around 1340) and Anna (Elisabeth). He was a direct descendant (great-grandson) of Dominus Krafft .

From 1372 he was mayor of Ulm and councilor.

In 1372 he bought the dominion of Balzheim from the Freiberg , later property of his wife's family (Ehinger).

In 1376 he acquired Sinningen from Ulrich von Freyberg.

In 1376 he founded the Swabian Association of Cities .

The city wars against the Count of Württemberg and the, albeit unsuccessful, siege of Charles IV in 1376 caused Ulm to give up the ancient parish church ennots feld (i.e. outside the walls). On June 30, 1377, the former mayor Lutz Krafft laid the foundation stone for the Ulm Minster "on the floor of the council".

In 1387 he and his brother (Otto?) Sold the property in Frauengasse (Frauenstrasse 22/24) to the women's community in Ulm , which had to give way to the cathedral building .

He and his wife moved into the stately home Reichenauer Hof (today Grüner Hof 2), of which the minnesinger hall (also incorrectly called the Mastersingers Hall) has been preserved.

Marriage and offspring

He married Elisabeth Ehinger (* around 1335; † December 5, 1389), the daughter of Johannes Ehinger. Her descendants were:

  • Egidius Krafft (* around 1375 - August 9, 1437) ∞ Ursula Hutter (see below)
    • Magnus Krafft (* around 1415 - 23 August 1477) ∞ Ursula Besserer (* 1412 - 1484)
  • Peter Krafft from Dellmensingen
  • Ludwig (Gilg) Krafft von Dellmensingen ∞ Ursula Hutter (* around 1381 - May 3, 1424)
    • Ludwig Krafft (* around 1400)
    • possibly Mang Krafft from Dellmensingen (* around 1405)
    • Heinrich (* around 1407)
