Ludwig Prechtl

Ludwig Prechtl (born May 14, 1865 in Vienna ; † April 26, 1931 there ) was an Austrian pianist , composer and conductor .

He began his studies in composition and counterpoint at the Vienna Conservatory in 1885 with Josef Eckhart and Franz Krenn and was theater conductor in Klagenfurt , Budapest (but also abroad ) from 1888 to 1890 . Then he worked as a pianist and music teacher in Vienna and in 1921 he was a founding member of the Society for the Elevation and Promotion of Viennese Folk Art .

Prechtl is buried in the Baumgartner Friedhof in Vienna (Gr. B, R. 11, No. 11).
