Ludwig Schantz

Ludwig Schantz (born September 29, 1805 in Raboldshausen near Hersfeld , † April 20, 1880 in Rotenburg an der Fulda ) was a German judicial and administrative clerk.

Life

Ludwig Schantz studied law at the Philipps University of Marburg . In 1825 he became a member of the Corps Teutonia Marburg . After completing his studies, he became a judicial and administrative officer in 1829. From 1835 to 1841 he was an actuary at the City Court of Kassel . From 1842 to 1845 he was a judicial officer at the Felsberg Justice Office and from 1846 to 1851 at the Oberaula Justice Office . In 1851 he was appointed district administrator for the district of Ziegenhain . In 1855/56 he moved to the Rotenburg district as district administrator . He held the office after the annexation of Electorate Hesse by Prussia until 1879.

His daughter Katharina Christina Pauline Schantz (1844–1924) was married to the Hessian politician Franz Rang .
