Felsberg District Court

The Felsberg District Court (until 1867 Felsberg Justice Office ) was a court of ordinary jurisdiction that existed from 1822 to 1943, as a branch until 1970, with its seat in the city of Felsberg (Hesse) .

history

With the entry into force of the Hessian Organizational Edict on January 1, 1822, the judiciary and administration in the Electorate of Hesse were separated. The previous Felsberg office lost its administrative functions to the newly formed Melsungen district and, as the Felsberg judicial office, only served the jurisdiction. The district of this newly formed lower court consisted of the town of Felsberg and the villages of Altenbrunslar , Altenburg , Beuern , Böddiger , Deute , Gensungen , Harle , Helmshausen , Hesserode , Heßlar , Hilgershausen , Lohre , Melgershausen , Neuenbrunslar , Niedermöllrich , Niedervorschütz , Rhünda , Unshausen and Wolfershausen together. In 1843 Unshausen was assigned to the Homberg Justice Office.

After the annexation of Electorate Hesse by the Kingdom of Prussia after the German War in 1866, a royal ordinance was issued in June 1867, which reorganized the court system in the former Electorate of Hesse and the parts of the area that were formerly part of the Kingdom of Bavaria. The previous judicial authorities have been repealed and replaced by local courts in the first, district courts in the second and a court of appeal in the third instance. As a result, the previous judicial office was renamed the Felsberg District Court and assigned to the district of the Cassel District Court .

Due to the Courts Constitution Act , with effect from October 1, 1879, there was a change to the district of the newly established Kassel District Court , but the district of the District Court itself did not change.

In 1943 the Felsberg District Court lost its independence and became a branch of the Melsungen District Court . On July 1, 1970, this branch was closed.
