Helmshausen is one of 16 districts of the city Felsberg in the north Hessian Schwalm-Eder district .

Geographical location

Helmshausen is located a little southwest of the Schwalm tributary Rhünda . State road  3427 and district road  21 intersect in the village .

history

The place was first mentioned in 1123. In historical documents the place is documented under the following place names (the year it was mentioned in brackets): Helmungeshusen (1123), Helmigeshusen (1376), Helungeshusen (1401), Helmesshausen (1555), Helvershausen (1534) and finally Helmshausen.

On 1 January 1974, the municipality helmet Hausen was in the course of administrative reform in Hesse powerful state law with the communities Brunslar Gensungen , Hilgershausen and Rhünda and the City Felsberg to advanced city Felsberg together . A local district was set up for Helmshausen, as for all of the formerly independent municipalities incorporated into Felsberg .
