Hilgershausen is one of 16 districts of the city of Felsberg in the Schwalm-Eder district in northern Hesse .

Geographical location

Hilgershausen lies on a high plateau between the Eder and Fulda valleys; The Rhünda flows to the southwest . State road  3435 and district road  28 meet in the village. Federal motorway 7 runs about one km east of the village .

history

The place was first mentioned in 1106 as Hildegereshusun. In historical documents the place is documented under the following place names (the year it was mentioned in brackets): Hildegerishusen (1194), Hieldegershusen (1404), Hilgershusen (1397), Heilgershusin (1499) and finally Hilgershausen.

On 1 January 1974 the municipality Hilgershausen, in the course of administrative reform in Hesse , powerful state law, with the municipalities Brunslar , Gensungen , helmet Hausen and Rhünda and the City Felsberg to advanced city Felsberg together . A local district was set up for Hilgershausen, as for all of the formerly independent municipalities incorporated into Felsberg .
