Unshausen has been part of the municipality of Wabern in the Schwalm-Eder district in northern Hesse since December 31, 1971 .

location

Unshausen is a closed village with a regular floor plan on a long slope that extends west to the Schwalm / Efze lowland, around 2.5 km south-east of the town center of Wabern, around 1 km east of the confluence of the Efze into the Schwalm and 6 km north of the district town of Homberg (Efze) . The Baumbach flows on the south-western edge of the village for a short distance along the Bachstraße, before turning northwards where it joins the Schwalm. To the east of the village there is a forest area with the Harler Berg ( 391.5  m above sea  level ).

The federal road 254 runs through the village from Homberg to Wabern.

history

The village was first mentioned in 1196. Unshausen used to belong to the Fritzlar-Homberg district and in 1939 had a total of 296 inhabitants.
