Ludwig Pfnorr , von Pfnorr since 1841 , (born April 24, 1781 in Usingen , † March 22, 1853 in Karlsruhe ) was a major general in Baden .

Life

Pfnorr was a son of the Hessian secret government councilor Heinrich Pfnorr . He studied law in Giessen , where he was one of the founders of the Corps Franconia II, but entered the Nassau military service in 1806 and in 1811 became a Nassau major and chief of the general staff . Pfnorr took part on the French side in the campaigns of 1806/07 against Prussia and Sweden and from 1808 to 1810 against Spain. In 1813 he changed to Baden services , commanded the 2nd Baden Infantry Regiment as a major in the Wars of Liberation and was last in the Baden General Staff. In 1825 he was promoted to lieutenant colonel . In 1832 he became the commander of the Light Infantry Battalion, then the 1st Infantry Brigade. From 1831 he was director of the higher education institute for officers and in 1832 military commissioner at the Bundestag in Frankfurt am Main. In 1840 he was promoted to major general and in the following year raised to the hereditary nobility of Baden .
