Ludwig von dem Bongart

Ludwig (Louis) Josef Ignatz Fortunatus Felix Reichsfreiherr von dem Bongart (born April 25, 1819 at Paffendorf Castle ; † May 6, 1878 ibid) was a German manor owner and court official.

Life

Ludwig von dem Bongart was born as the son of Fideikommissherr Ferdinand Franz Josef von dem Bongart and Charlotte. from Waldbott – Bassenheim - Bornheim . He studied at the University of Bonn and became a member of the Corps Borussia Bonn in 1840 . After graduating, he became the owner of the Paffendorf and Winandsrat manors. From 1861 to 1865 he rebuilt Paffendorf Castle in the neo-Gothic style according to plans by August Carl Lange.

Ludwig von dem Bongart was born with Melanie Imperial Countess von Walderdorff zu Molsberg married childless. He was treasurer of the Duchy of Jülich .

In 1851 and 1852 he was elected and convened for the second estate in the Koblenz constituency as a deputy in the provincial parliament of the Rhine province . He was also elected as deputy from 1854 to 1872, but did not take part in any meetings.

He was a knight of the Royal Bavarian Order of St. George .
