Luigi's Mansion 3 ( Japanese title: ルイージマンション3 , Hepburn : Ruiji Manshon 3) is an action-adventure - video game , which by Next Level Games develops and by the Japanese company Nintendo on October 31, 2019 exclusively for the Nintendo switch has been released. It is the successor to Luigi's Mansion 2 .

Luigi , his brother Mario , Princess Peach and a group of Toads are invited to a luxury hotel. Upon their arrival, it turns out that the invitation was actually a trap by King Buu Huu , who wants to keep Luigi and his friends captive by capturing them in pictures. Luigi now has to team up with Professor I. Gidd again to save his friends. With the new ghost vacuum cleaner Schreckweg F-LU , Luigi finally sets off to save his friends. However, Fluigi is brand new in this part of Luigi's Mansion : He is unlocked during the game and accompanies Luigi on his missions. Fluigi is relevant to action, for example he has to slide through pipes or bars and squeeze through areas that Luigi cannot. This is made possible by the fact that Professor Immanuel Gidd, the inventor of Fluigi, developed it from the Glibber, which he also invented. Fluigi has no fear or feelings, but immediately dissolves when it comes into contact with water.

Luigi's Mansion 3 was first announced in a Nintendo Direct on September 14, 2018 with a release in 2019. A trailer was shown in Nintendo Direct for E3 2019 , in which the gameplay , the game modes and the functions of the new ghost vacuum cleaner called Schreckweg F-LU were discussed in more detail. The trailer was released on June 11, 2019 on Nintendo Germany's official YouTube channel . On July 17, 2019, Nintendo announced via Twitter that Luigi's Mansion 3 would be released on October 31, 2019.

On the rating website Metacritic , the game has a Metascore of 86 out of 100 possible points - based on 101 ratings. The German-language online magazine 4Players rated the game with 82 out of a possible 100 points and awarded the brand “Good”.
The game sold a total of 5.37 million times by December 31, 2019.
