Luigi Archetti

Luigi Archetti (born February 5, 1955 in Brescia , Italy ) is an Italian visual artist and musician.

Life

Archetti has been based in Switzerland since 1965 , where he lives in Zurich . He works as a visual artist (painting, drawing, installation, video) and musician (composition, experimental music, improvisation, audio-electronic music, electric guitarist). He has performed projects and solo performances practically all over the world.

Archetti exhibited in various galleries and in the Kunsthalle Winterthur , Kunst (Zeug) Haus in Rapperswil, Kunstraum Heidelberg, Musée Rath Geneva, the Kunstmuseum Luzern and the Sala Can Felipe, Barcelona. In the Zurich area he realized several art in architecture projects.

He gave concerts at the “Ton-Art” festivals in Bern, the Schaffhausen Jazz Festival , the Knitting Festival, New York and the Mutamenti Festival, Bellinzona.

He has worked in various music theater projects, including: with Meg Stuart - Damaged Goods with the improvisation piece Auf den Tisch! in Vienna and Salzburg.

The films I have you seen better dancing than this from 2007 and Best German Music Video from 2008, conceived and shot by Archetti together with Bo Wiget , received second prizes in the music video category at the 53rd and 54th International Short Film Festival Oberhausen in 2007 and 2008.

He teaches at the F + F School for Art and Design in Zurich.
