Manfred "Mani" Neumeier (born December 31, 1940 in Munich ) is a rock musician who was best known as the front man (singer and drummer) of the German Krautrock band Guru Guru .

Before Neumeier founded Guru Guru in 1968, he was a free jazz drummer in Irène Schweizer's trio . At the Berlin Jazz Days in 1967 he played in a duo with Philly Joe Jones and with the Globe Unity Orchestra . He also worked as a soloist and - still today - with numerous musicians and bands, including Peter Brötzmann , Dieter Moebius , Damo Suzuki , Harmonia , John McLaughlin , Yusef Lateef , Makoto Kawabata, Atsushi Tsuyama, Uchihashi Kazuhisa , Tatsuya Yoshida and Jojo Hiroshige. Mani also played alongHans Reffert and together with Luigi Archetti in the duo Animals of the Night and with Conni Maly as lover 303 .

After a successful tour of Japan by Guru Guru Mani Neumeier in 1996 became the first German musician in the wax museum of Tokyo set up. Neumeier lives in the Baden-Württemberg town of Hilsenhain in the Odenwald and Japan .
