from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Peter Hollinger (* 1954 in Zweibrücken ) is a German drummer and sound artist.

Hollinger, who initially also worked in punk (for example with Hans Platzgumer as "Platzlinger"), is best known for his solo performance "Koffersuite", which he has been performing for more than 15 years. During the 1990s he played with Jon Rose , Dietmar Diesner and Hannes Bauer in the improvisation ensemble Slawterhaus ; the jazz newspaper called him in this context a “wisp on his minimal drum set”. He also worked across genres with Wädi Gysi , Tom Cora , Elliott Sharp , Fred Frith , David Moss , Steve Beresford , Conrad Bauer , Ned Rothenberg , Alexander von Schlippenbach , Heiner Goebbels and Alfred Harth . He has increasingly started drumming on everyday objects such as saucepans, scrap materials or toys . He is also involved in sound sculptures and sound landscapes.

Hollinger currently lives in Berlin.
