Luigi Diamante

Luigi Diamante (* 1904 in Udine , † 1971 in Fossalta di Portogruaro ) was an Italian painter and draftsman .

Life

Diamante studied at the art school in Venice and at the same time worked as a draftsman in an architecture studio. From this period he left a series of studies of the buildings and monuments of Udine , some dating from 1922.

In the second half of the 1920s he created his first drawings and oil paintings . In 1934 Diamante began to become known by participating with other painters in various Mostre Sindacali d'Arte in Udine and occasionally participating in their executive committee.

In 1939 he worked on the decoration of the apse of the church in Nogaredo di Prato. In 1944 he worked with the architect Toso to map the most important monumental buildings in Udine in order to evaluate the damage caused by the expected bombing. In 1946 he worked on the decoration of the facades of the churches of Manzano and Soleschiano.

From 1947 until his death he taught drawing in the middle school “A. Manzoni ”in Udine. During the 1950s and 1960s he continued to paint and made some trips in Italy and abroad in the footsteps of Tiepolo (in Germany and Austria in 1962) and the Impressionists ( France 1964). A lot of sketches and drawings are left over from these trips . At the same time he made numerous exhibitions.

Luigi Diamante left over 400 oil paintings and several hundred works using various techniques ( watercolor , tempera , pastel painting , drawings and others).
