Luigi Gatti (Archbishop)

Luigi Gatti (born November 25, 1946 in Castiglione Tinella , Province of Cuneo , Italy ) is a former diplomat of the Holy See .

Life

Luigi Gatti was ordained a priest on June 29, 1970 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him on June 13, 1998 Titular Archbishop of Santa Giusta and Apostolic Pro-Nuncio in Zimbabwe . He was ordained bishop by Cardinal Secretary of State Angelo Sodano on August 29 of the same year; Co- consecrators were Andrea Cordero Lanza di Montezemolo , Apostolic Nuncio in Italy , and Sebastiano Dho , Bishop of Alba .

On June 28, 2001, John Paul II called him Apostolic Nuncio in Lebanon . Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on July 16, 2009 as Apostolic Nuncio in Greece and accepted his resignation on February 22, 2011.
