Luigi Maria Olivares SDB (born October 18, 1873 in Corbetta , Lombardy , † May 19, 1943 in Pordenone , Friuli-Venezia Giulia ) was an Italian religious priest and Roman Catholic bishop .

The son of pious parents had a calling when he was ten and began his studies in a Salesian college. It was in 1895 Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Milan for priests ordained. For eight years he was Vice Rector of the Saronno Seminary . Eventually he received his bishop's permission to join the Salesians . He initially worked in the parish of Maria Liberatrice in the Roman district of Testaccio and gained an exceptional reputation , especially as a confessor .

In 1916 Pope Benedict XV appointed Olivares as bishop of the diocese of Sutri and Nepi , which is now part of the diocese of Civita Castellana . Olivares died in Pordenone while holding a retreat . His remains are in the Cathedral of Nepi . Pope John Paul II made Luigi Maria Olivares a venerable servant of God on December 20, 2004 .
