Luis Fernando Saritama Padilla (born October 20, 1983 in Quito ) is an Ecuadorian football player . He plays as a left winger, but can also play the role of playmaker.
Saritama came to Deportivo Quito at the age of 16 and made his first league appearance in 2001. Within a very short time, the young star developed into a regular player in midfield and even became the captain of the capital city team. In 2004 he switched to Peru in the second half of the year and came to 14 missions at Alianza Lima , which won the Peruvian national championship that year. He then returned to Deportivo Quito. After the 2006 World Cup, he moved to the UANL Tigres in Mexico. From January to June 2007 he played for Club America ; until December 2007 he worked for Alianza Lima in Peru. Since January 2008 he played again in Ecuador for Deportivo Quito. There he was able to win the Ecuadorian championship with his team in 2008, 2009 and 2011. In early 2013 he left the club to local rivals LDU Quito . A year later he was hired by Barcelona SC before rejoining Deportivo Quito in early 2015. At the end of the season he had to relegate with Deportivo. He left the club and moved to Deportivo Cuenca , with whom he could play for another two years in the highest Ecuadorian league. At the beginning of 2018 he returned to Deportivo Quito, which now only played in the fourth division. He has been under contract with Independiente Juniors Latacunga in the Ecuadorian Serie B since the beginning of 2019 .
For his country, Luis Saritama was already in action in all youth selections and was on June 11, 2003 for the first time in the senior team . Since then, he has often been a substitute player in the national jersey, including in qualifying for the 2006 World Cup in Germany, where he was only allowed to play in the insignificant last game. He also played the role of substitute in Ecuador's World Cup squad . It was only used irregularly in the following years. Only in 2011 he was a regular player with eleven appearances. On June 4, 2014, he played his last international match.
