Luis Moreno Mansilla

Luis Mansilla (* 1959 ; † 2012 ) was a Spanish architect.

Life

In 1982 he finished his architectural education at the Technical College of Architecture of Madrid (ETSAM). In 1998 he also obtained his doctorate from ETSAM. His doctoral thesis was awarded the Polytechnic University Prize for exceptional doctoral theses.

In 1982 he received a scholarship from the Spanish Academy of Fine Arts for a two-year course in Rome . In 1985 he received a scholarship from the Swedish Institute at the Architecture Museum in Stockholm to research the trips of the two Swedish architects Asplund and Lewerentz. He then worked in the office of the Spanish architect Rafael Moneo until 1992 . In 1992 he founded the office Mansilla + Tuñón Architects together with Emilio Tuñón .

Luis Mansilla has been Head Professor of the Design and Architectural Projects Chair at the Technical College of Architecture of Madrid (ETSAM) since 1986. He held various professorships at various universities - including the Princeton University School of Architecture, Harvard University Graduate School of Design, École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne , Architecture School of the University of Navarra , University of CEU San Pablo, New Architecture School of Puerto Rico , Städel School in Frankfurt - inside.

Luis Mansilla died in Barcelona in February 2012.
