Luis Roberto de Lacy y Gautier (born January 11, 1775 in San Roque , † July 5, 1817 in Palma ) was a Spanish military and liberal politician of Irish origin.

Lacy was the son of Patricio de Lacy y Gould, an Irish military man in the Spanish service. He joined the Spanish army as a very young man. He became an officer at the age of 14. He took part as a captain in the Pyrenees War (1793-1795). In 1799 he was sent to the Canary Islands. He was serving a one-year prison term in Cadiz because of disagreements with his superiors and disobedience. He was completely discharged from the Spanish military. He then went to the Irish Legion in France, with which he fought in Germany.

He later went back to Spain. He deserted and returned to the service of the Spanish military. From 1811 to 1813 he was Captain General of Catalonia. After the loss of Tarragona, he tried to reorganize the Spanish military on a line of defense from Seu d'Urgell - Solsona - Cardona . He built a base camp for recruitment and training on the Serra de Busa. With quick attacks he advanced as far as the French Cerdanya . He briefly occupied Igualada , Reus and the Illes Medes . But due to a defeat at Mataró and disagreements with the Junta Superior de Govern del Principat (Supreme Junta of the Principate), he was replaced by General Ibáñez Cuevas . He was removed from military service during the absolutist restoration. He retired to Vinaròs .

In 1817 he led a large-scale military and civil revolt from Caldes d'Estrac . He used the forces of the Maresme to go to Barcelona and proclaim a constitution there. Denunciation, the indecision of all actors and a loan from Bishop Sichar to Captain General Castaños to pay his troops due, led to the failure of this revolt. Lacy was no longer able to take a ship across Blanes . He was arrested and sentenced to death. The vehement protest of the Barcolonese population made the implementation of the judgment impossible at first. Castaños spent Lacy with the prospect of a pardon to Mallorca . Once there, however, he had him shot at the Castell de Bellver .
